TULSA, Okla. – Virginia first-year Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.) reached the singles final of the ITA All-American Championships with a pair of victories on Saturday. He will play Wil Spencer of Georgia in the final on Sunday.

Frank, the top-ranked freshman in the nation, downed sixth-seeded Dennis Nevolo of Illinois 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 in the quarterfinals. He followed that win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Daniel Nguyen of USC in the semifinals.

He is the third Cavalier to reach the singles final of the event, joining Brian Vahaly, who was runner-up in 1999, and 2010 champion Alex Domijan. He is looking to become just the fourth freshman to win the title, along with Domijan, Scott Davis of Stanford in 1980 and Ryan Wolters of Stanford in 1995.
