LOS ANGELES — The Virginia women’s tennis team concluded play at the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday at the Riviera Country Club. The team of Lindsey Hardenbergh (Fairfax Station, Va.) and Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.) fell in the consolation doubles final 8-0 to Lauren Embree and Joanna Mather of Florida.
The Cavalier duo won three backdraw matches on Saturday to reach the consolation final.
“Erin and Lindsey played extremely hard and stayed tough to the end,” said head coach Mark Guilbeau. “Florida was too good and especially didn’t allow us to finish points, despite Lindsey and Erin playing some very good offensive points.”
