Charlottesville, VA – The 12th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team travels to the west coast this weekend to compete at the Stanford Intercollegiate. The three-day event takes place Oct. 14-16 at the Stanford Golf Course.

The field for the tournament includes Stanford, Arizona State, Denver, Kent State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Southern California, Texas, UC-Davis, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Washington.

Teams will tee off on Friday and Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. Tee times will start at
7:30 a.m. on Sunday. Virginia’s lineup will include Brittany Altomare, Nicole Agnello, Portland Rosen, Elizabeth Brightwell, Briana Mao and Kaira Martin will compete as an individual. This will be the first collegiate tournament for Mao and Martin.

The Cavaliers are looking to rebound after tying for 12th place at last weekend’s Tar Heel Invitational. Agnello and Altomare tied for 19th overall at 2-over 218. The team opened the season with a third-place finish at The Fall Preview to climb up to second in the Golfstat standings.

The trip will be UVa’s first to Stanford since finishing fifth at the 2010 NCAA West Regional Championship. Altomare was 12th at that event while Agnello placed 49th.
