CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team had two doubles teams win flight championships on the first day of play at the UVa Fall Classic. Due to rain, the tournament schedule was adjusted to play all three round of doubles on Friday, with singles play to be held Saturday and Sunday.

In the Blue Doubles draw, the top-seeded team of Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.) and Julen Uriguen (Guatamala City, Guatemala) won the title with a pair of victories after a first round bye. Philippe Oudshoorn (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands) and Steven Rooda (Amersfoort, The Netherlands) took the title in White Doubles, winning a pair of matches after a first round bye.

Saturday’s play begins at 9 a.m. at the Snyder Tennis Center. Admission is free. Round of 16 and quarterfinals of all six singles flights will be played Saturday, with semifinals and finals held on Sunday.
