NORFOLK, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team had a strong day on Saturday at the ITA Atlantic Regional at Old Dominion University. The Cavaliers had seven singles players and xx doubles teams advance.

In singles, all seven players in the main draw won in straight sets to reach the round of 32. Top-seeded Lindsey Hardenbergh (Fairfax Station, Va.), second-seeded Emily Fraser (Rye, N.Y.), fourth-seeded Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.), fifth-seeded Hana Tomljanovic (Boca Raton, Fla.), seventh-seeded Li Xi (Kunming, China), 14th-seeded Maria Fuccillo (Rockville, Md.) and 15th-seeded Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) were victorious.

In doubles, four Cavalier teams reached the round of 16. Top-seeded Vierra and Hardenbergh, second-seeded Fraser and Tomljanovic, sixth-seeded Fuccillo and Xi, and 14th-seeded Peretz and Molly O’Koniewski (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) won their opening match of the tournament.

The championship runs through Tuesday in Norfolk.
