Charlottesville, VA – The 23rd-ranked Virginia women’s golf team closes out the fall portion of its schedule when the Cavaliers compete at the 10th annual Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., this weekend. The 54-hole tournament runs Friday though Sunday. Play is scheduled to begin daily at 8:30 a.m. Competitors will tee off in three-player waves from holes No.1 and No. 10 on Friday and Saturday before a shotgun start will mark the start of action for Sunday’s final round.

The tournament field includes host UNC Wilmington and ranked teams Auburn (No. 3), North Carolina (No. 4), Duke (No. 12), NC State (No. 16) and Ohio State (No. 25). Also in the field are Chattanooga, Florida State, Iowa State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Purdue, South Carolina, Tulane and Wake Forest.

Virginia’s lineup includes Brittany Altomare, Elizabeth Brightwell, Portland Rosen Kaira Martin and Nicole Agnello. Altomare currently leads the team with a 71.44 stroke average.

Last year Virginia finished fifth at the event behind Altomare who tied for medalist at 2-under 214.
