Charlottesville, Va. – Fans are invited to attend a special preseason event with the Virginia men’s basketball team on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 2-3:30 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena. Admission and parking for this event are free.

“Inside Virginia Men’s Basketball” will include a special presentation from head coach Tony Bennett and the men’s basketball coaching staff beginning at 2:15 p.m. During the presentation, staff members will provide insight on their coaching strategies as they prepare for the upcoming season. After the presentation, the arena will be open for a behind-the-scenes walking tour of JPJA. Fans will have the opportunity to take a shot on the main floor and see the practice court, locker room, weight room, and much more. The players and coaches will be stationed throughout the arena to answer questions.

Several raffle prizes will be given away to fans, including: a trip for two to the 2012 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament in Atlanta, Ga. and two lower level tickets to Virginia’s home games against Maryland and North Carolina. One UVa student and one fan will also have a chance to compete in a special on-court “Let’s Make a Deal” shooting contest. One UVa student will be selected to take a three-point shot to win free tuition for the spring semester.

Parking for this event is free in John Paul Jones Arena’s main lot. Fans are asked to enter through the arena’s main entrance. Free posters will be distributed and the Cavalier Team Shop inside the main lobby will be open.

Fans interested in purchasing season tickets and mini-packages will have the opportunity to select seats by visiting the CavForce table in the main lobby.

Virginia opens the season on Sunday, Nov. 13, against South Carolina State at 2 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena. Single-game and Family Package tickets are on sale now for this contest. There will be an autograph session with the men’s basketball players following the game.
