FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Virginia first-year Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.), the top seed at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, reached the singles final with a 6-2, 6-3 semifinal win over fifth-seeded Henrique Cunha of Duke on Saturday. He will play eighth-seeded Dennis Nevolo of Illinois in Sunday’s final.

Frank, who won the ITA All-American Championship, will look to become the first player to win both major ITA titles in the same season since James Blake of Harvard in 1998-99. He is the first player to reach both finals in the same season since Amer Delic of Illinois in 2002-03. Frank is the second Cavalier to reach the indoor final, joining 2007 champion Somdev Devvarman.

It will be the second meeting of the fall between Frank and Nevolo. Frank scored a 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 win over Nevolo in the quarterfinals of the ITA All-American Championships last month in Tulsa.
