CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia women’s cross country team and men’s senior Mark Amirault (Walpole, Mass.) travel to Terre Haute, Ind., to compete at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday.

Indiana State will host the championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute.

The men’s race will begin at approximately 12:08 p.m. ET, followed by the women’s race at approximately 12:58 p.m. A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from noon to 1:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com. In addition, highlights from the championships will be included as part of the CBS NCAA Fall Seasonal Show scheduled to air on Saturday, December 18, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET on CBS HD.

The Cavalier women earned their third NCAA Southeast Regional title in four years last Saturday (Nov. 12), with seniors Morgane Gay (Bethesda, Md.) and Anna Corrigan (Burke, Va.) and sophomore Chelsea Ley (Woolwich Township, N.J.) all earning All-Southeast Region honors. The women finished 21st at last year’s national meet.

Amirault earned an automatic bid to the men’s championship with a third place finish at the regionals, earning him All-Southeast Region honors. Amirault’s finish was tied for the highest Cavalier finish ever at the meet, matching Emil Heineking’s third-place mark in 2008.
