GREENSBORO, N.C.-Virginia senior forward Mike Scott has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week for his play in the Cavaliers’ 67-54 victory at Oregon on Sunday (Dec. 18).

Scott scored a game-high 17 points and had a game-high 13 rebounds against Oregon. He was 5-7 (71.4 percent) from the field and made all seven of his free throw attempts. He also had one assist.

Scott scored 13 points and had eight rebounds in the second half as Virginia came back from a 30-28 halftime deficit to defeat the Ducks. It was Oregon’s first home loss of the season.

The double-double was Scott’s fourth of the season and the 28th of his career.

The 6-8 native of Chesapeake, Va., is averaging 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a game this season. He is shooting 59.5 percent (50-84) from the field, including 50.0 percent (3-6) from three-point range, and 80.0 percent (52-65) from the free-throw line.

The ACC Player of the Week recognition is the second of Scott’s career.

Boston College’s Lonnie Jackson was named the ACC Rookie of the Week.
