CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia swimmer Charlotte Clarke was tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference women’s performer of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Clarke, a native of Adelaide, Australia, helped the 11th-ranked Virginia women to a victory over NC State Saturday in the final dual meet of the season. She posted a NCAA ‘B’ cut in the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 54.30 and also finished second in the 200 backstroke behind teammate Caroline Kenney.

Clarke led off Virginia’s 200 medley relay that additionally posted a NCAA ‘B’ time of 1:43.25, another event win for the Cavaliers.

It is the first career accolade for Clarke and the third of the season for the women’s team. Teammates Lauren Perdue (Jan. 24) and Meredith Cavalier (Dec. 6) have also been honored this year.

The Virginia women finished an undefeated 8-0 overall and 5-0 vs. ACC schools in dual meets this season. The squad is off until the ACC Championships, slated for Feb. 15-18, at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center in Christiansburg, Va.
