PHILADELPHIA – The Virginia women’s lacrosse team traveled to Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday (Feb. 11) for three preseason scrimmages against Boston University, Denver and Pennsylvania.

Prior to arriving at Penn’s campus, the Cavaliers took time for a team photo on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The ‘Hoos arrived at Franklin Field and a light snow was falling as the temperature hovered in the mid-30’s.

The Cavaliers defeated Boston University, 10-9, in the first contest of the day. Ashlee Warner scored the game-winner on an assist from Ainsley Baker.

Virginia out-scored Denver, 9-2, and nine different Cavaliers tallied goals vs. the Pioneers.

UVa dropped its final scrimmage vs. Penn, 10-4. Charlie Finnigan scored two goals for the Cavaliers.

UVa opens its season in one week on Saturday (Feb. 18) vs. Loyola at home. The season-opener is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
