GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Virginia softball team’s game against East Carolina Sunday has been canceled because of cold weather conditions. With the wind chill at the time of first pitch forecasted to be in the teens, both head coaches agreed to cancel the contest.

Virginia went 4-0 in the season-opening tournament and returns to Greenville, N.C., next weekend to compete in the Pirate Clash where the Cavaliers will meet Fordham, East Carolina, Hofstra and UNC Greensboro. UVa opens with a 9 a.m. game Friday against Fordham.
