CHARLOTTESVILLE – The eighth-ranked Virginia women’s tennis team concludes a five-match homestand this week by hosting a pair of ACC rivals at the Snyder Tennis Center. The Cavaliers play No. 5 Duke on Friday at 3 p.m. and No. 11 North Carolina on Sunday at noon.

Virginia enters the matches on a six-match winning streak. The Cavaliers are 12-2 overall this season, including a 3-0 mark in the ACC. With a win over the Blue Devils on Friday, Virginia would start a conference season 4-0 for the first time in history. The Cavaliers are looking for their first win over Duke since 2006 and their first win against North Carolina since 2000.

Duke is 13-2 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. Last month, the Blue Devils were the runner-up at the 2012 ITA National Team Indoor Championships at the Boar’s Head Sports Club, falling to UCLA 4-3 in the final. North Carolina is 12-4 overall and 2-0 in the ACC following Wednesday’s 6-1 win over NC State. The Tar Heels have won seven straight matches and will play at Virginia Tech on Friday before travelling to Charlottesville for Sunday’s match.

Admission to all Virginia tennis home matches is free. Fans attending the matches can park for free in the Culbreth Garage.
