Tampa, FL – The 18th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team finished seventh at the Gary Koch Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Cavaliers shot 13-over 301 Sunday for a 54-hole total of 878. North Florida took the team title with a score of 843, 20 strokes ahead of second-place Georgia Tech.

UVa was led by Ben Kohles’ 15th-place finish. Kohles posted the Cavaliers best final round score, shooting 1-over 73, to finish at 2-over 218. Ji Soo Park was 23rd at 220 and Denny McCarthy was 27th at 221. Both players shot 78 during the final round.

Virginia’s Bruce Woodall was 32nd at 223 and Ben Rusch finished 42nd at 226. Both players posted final round scores of 75.

North Florida’s Joey Petronio took medalist honors at 8-under 208.

The Cavaliers will compete at the ACC Championships April 20-22 in New London, N.C.
