CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia junior goalkeeper Kim Kolarik (Riva, Md.) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday (April 17). Kolarik becomes the first Virginia women’s lacrosse player to be named the ACC’s Player of the Week three times in the same season.

Kolarik tallied eight saves in an 11-7 win at No. 19 Johns Hopkins on April 11. In front of a national television audience, Kolarik and the Cavalier defense held their eighth opponent of the season to single-digit goals.

Kolarik also had two ground balls in 60 minutes of action.

In addition to Kolarik’s three player of the week nods, senior attacker Josie Owen (Offensive, March 27) and senior attacker Ainsley Baker (Offensive, Feb. 21) have garnered player of the week accolades this season.
