CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior midfielder Julie Gardner (Severna Park, Md.) and senior attacker Josie Owen (Gibson Island, Md.) have earned All-America accolades from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Owen was a second-team honoree, while Gardner took home third-team honors.

The honor was the first career nod for Owen, who led UVa with 42 goals, 35 assists and 77 points. She also led the Cavaliers with 46 draw controls and caused 10 turnovers.

Gardner picked up her second career All-America honor after also being a third-team honoree last season. In 2012 Gardner had 21 goals and 13 assists for 34 points. She also reached double digits in ground balls (15) and draw controls (12) and had nine caused turnovers.

Both Gardner and Owen were co-captains in 2012.
