DES MOINES, Iowa-The Virginia track and field team completed the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday (June 6).

In the men’s 800 meters semifinal, senior Lance Roller (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) placed fourth in his heat and 10th overall in a season-best time of 1:47.07. The 2012 ACC Champion’s time held up through the second heat to qualify, but in the third heat, the top six runners all ran under Roller’s time.

Junior Sean Keveren (Brentwood, Tenn.) placed 18th in the men’s 10,000 meters final in a time of 30:15.40. Keveren made his first NCAA track appearance.

The action continues Thursday (June 7) at 4 p.m. The meet will broadcast live on ESPN3.com.
