Lavender Advances to 400-Meter Final at USATF Junior Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-Virginia track and field rising sophomore Jordan Lavender (Nashville, Tenn.) advanced to the final of the girls’ 400 meters on the second day of the USATF Junior Outdoor Nationals in Bloomington, Ind., on Saturday (June 16).
Lavender finished second in the third heat of the 400m in a time of 53.51. She will compete in the final Sunday at 3:15 p.m.
Rising sophomore Devin Brewer (Dumfries, Va.) placed seventh in the boys’ 400 hurdles final in a time of 53.52.
Classmate Ryan Satchell (Central Islip, N.Y.) competed in the boys’ triple jump placed 18th with a mark of 14.21m (46′ 7.5″).
Incoming freshman Peyton Chaney (Belleville, Ill.) finished 11th overall in the girls’ 200 meters first round in a time of 24.25.
The action continues Sunday at 1 p.m.
