GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia men’s lacrosse redshirt freshman Owen Van Arsdale was named to the 2012 All-ACC Academic Men’s Lacrosse Team, as announced by the league office Wednesday. The award is the attackman’s first of his career.

Van Arsdale started all 14 games of the regular season at attack, coming off the bench in the NCAA Tournament. He finished with nine goals and nine assists during his rookie campaign. Van Arsdale opened up the season scoring two goals in each of the Cavaliers’ first three games.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
