EUGENE, Ore.–Former Virginia track and field All-American Stephanie Garcia qualified for the final in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase at U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., Monday evening (June 25).

Garcia placed fourth in her heat (seventh overall) in a time of 9:48.17, automatically qualifying for the final on Friday (June 29) at 7:45 p.m. The final will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network.

The South Riding, Va., native represented the US at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in the event in Daegu, South Korea and finished fourth at the 2011 USATF Championships.

The U.S. Olympic Trials continue Thursday (June 28) and continue through Sunday (July 1).
