Members of the 2012-13 Virginia men’s tennis team are busy this summer, playing in events around the world. They will be competing in pro events on the Futures Tour, the Challenger Tour and qualifying of ATP Events. In addition, they will play junior events, open events and even represent the country in Davis Cup.

Here is what the Cavaliers are up to this summer: (check back all summer for latest news)

Mitchell Frank: Frank plans to spend the summer playing pro events. He reached the singles second round and doubles semifinals of the Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. Futures (June 18). His schedule for the summer consists of Winnetka, Ill. (Challenger, Main Draw wild card), Binghamton, N.Y. (Challenger), Lexington, Ky. (Challenger), Aptos, Calif. (Challenger) and Winston-Salem (ATP Qualifying).

Jarmere Jenkins: Spent June training in Charlottesville while attending classes during summer session. He plans to play pro events in July and August, with his schedule consisting of Joplin, Mo. (Futures), Decatur, Ill. (Futures), Lexington, Ky. (Challenger), Edwardsville, Ill. (Futures) and Winston-Salem (ATP Qualifying).

Alex Domijan: Reached the singles final and doubles semifinal of the Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. Futures event (June 18). He will spend July training in Charlottesville while attending classes during summer session.

Justin Shane: Advanced from qualifying to make the main draw of singles at the Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. Futures event (June 18). He also competed in qualifying of the Innisbrook, Fla. Futures (June 25). He will spend July training in Charlottesville while attending classes during summer session.

Mac Styslinger: Competed in Futures events in Indian Harbour Beach Fla. (June 18) and Innisbrook, Fla. (June 25). His schedule for the summer consists of Atlanta (ATP Qualifying), Godfrey, Ill. (Futures), Kalamazoo, Mich. (USTA Boys 18s National Championships) and Winston-Salem (ATP Qualifying).

Mitchell Polnet: Competed in Futures events in California in June. Will train in Charlottesville while attending classes during summer session before playing the USTA Boys 18s National Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Harrison Richmond: Won the singles title at the Boys 18s Southern Closed Championships. This week he will advanced to the main draw of Pittsburgh Futures. After this week he will be training in Charlottesville while attending classes during summer session. He will play the USTA Boys 18s National Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Ryan Shane: Competed in Futures events in Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. (June 18) and Innisbrook, Fla. (June 25). His schedule for the summer consists of Delray Beach, Fla. (Boys 18s Clay Court Championships) and Kalamazoo, Mich. (USTA Boys 18s National Championships).

Jonathan Cornish: Competed at the Aegon Junior International (June 25), falling in three sets in the final round of qualifying. His schedule consists of several men’s events on the LTA’s British Tour and the Cumberland, U.K. Futures.

Julen Uriguen: Represented Guatemala at the Davis Cup Americas Zone III Playoff, helping his native country get promoted to Group II for 2013. During the playoff, Uriguen was 2-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles as Guatemala defeated Haiti, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago and Costa Rica in Trinidad from June 18-22. He will be in Charlottesville in July and August training and interning at Virginia National Bank.

Alex Scheinman: Schedule consists of several USTA men’s opens in the Los Angeles area.

Ian Uriguen: Spending the summer as an intern at Tyrogenex in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Brian Fang: Spending the summer as an intern with AEG LIve in the Real Estate and Sales & marketing departments in Los Angeles.
