Colorado Spring, Colo. – Incoming Virginia freshman Rebecca Holden (Fishing Creek, N.J.) has been named to the Under-19 2012-13 U.S. Junior National Field Hockey Squad. She was selected following the completion of Junior National Camp held last week at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The four-day training camp allowed 100 athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of selectors for a spot on the U.S. Junior National Squads.

Two dozen athletes were named to the U19 squad. These athletes will report to a training camp in January 2013 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Following the training camp, select athletes will be announced to a travel squad that will tour internationally in the spring of 2013.

Holden is a two-time league most valuable player out of Lower Cape May Regional High School, where she helped the team to two division championships. She totaled 560 saves and .874 save percentage during prep career. Holden also played for the Sprit of USA club team, where she participated on the national level in such events as the Junior Olympics, National Festival and Disney Showcase.
