OMAHA, Neb. –

Former Virginia swimmer Scot Robison (Charlotte, N.C.) and rising sophomore Alison Haulsee (Glen Allen, Va.) earned spots in the semifinals slated for Thursday night as day four of the United States Olympic Swimming Trials continued from the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb.

Robison is the top seed in the 100-meter freestyle out of preliminaries. He posted the fastest time this morning – a mark of 49.08. His international experience includes stints at the 2009 World University Games and 2011 World Championships. Robison, a 21-time All-American, is the ACC record holder in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events in addition to being the school record holder in the 50-yard freestyle.

Haulsee earned a berth into the semifinals of the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:12.79 to finish 16th and take the final spot. That race is also scheduled for tonight. Haulsee was an honorable mention All-American in the 200-yard butterfly in 2012 and collected all-conference honors in both the 500-yard freestyle and 1650-yard freestyle events.

Robison and Haulsee join rising senior Lauren Perdue (Greenville, N.C.) in primetime action tonight at the Olympic Trials. Swimming in her first meet since the ACC Championships in February, she advanced in the 200-meter freestyle final and is seeded seventh. The top four finishers in the event are named to the 2012 Olympic Team. Perdue missed the NCAA Championships in March to undergo a surgical procedure on her back; she is a 12-time All-American and 17-time ACC champion in her first three seasons at Virginia.

In other action Thursday, former Cavalier and 2000 Olympian Ed Moses recorded an 18th-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke, two spots away from a return swim. Moses touched in 2:14.32. Virginia’s 2011-12 team captain, Peter Geissinger, also had a strong showing in the 100-meter freestyle. He placed 28th overall in 50.05.
