WASHINGTON – Three former members of the Virginia men’s tennis program have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Citi Open, the ATP 500 event at the FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park. The team of Treat Huey (Class of 2008) and Dom Inglot (Class of 2009) won their first round match Tuesday, as did Drew Courtney (Class of 2012), who is teaming with former USC standout Steve Johnson.

Huey and Inglot, currently ranked No. 32 in the ATP Doubles Team Rankings, downed Xavier Malisse and Alexandr Dolgopolov 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 in the first round. They will play No. 2 seed Aisam-Ul-Haq Quereshi and Robert Farah, a 2010 USC graduate, in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Courtney and Johnson received a wild card entry into the Citi Open and scored a 7-5, 7-6(6) first round win over James Cerretani and Leonardo Mayer. It was Courtney’s first ATP Tour victory. They will play Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski, a former player at LSU, in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
