GREENSBORO, N.C.—Virginia sophomore diver JB Kolod competed at the AT&T National Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C., Aug. 14-19. In addition, three incoming freshmen, Carl Buergler, Becca Corbett, and Colby Shinholser, dove at the USA Diving Junior National Championships, also in Greensboro Aug. 4-10.

At the National Diving Championships, Kolod placed 17th in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 312.45 and was 20th on the 3-meter board with 339.35 points.

At the Junior National meet, Bruegler was 13th on the 3-meter with a score of 530.40, 18th on the 1-meter (470.20) and 19th on the platform (394.95). Shinholser placed 14th on the 1-meter with a score of 477.35, while finishing 18th on the platform (396.90) and 24th on the 3-meter (461.40). Corbett tallied a score of 380.15 on the platform, good enough for 17th place, and finished 23rd on the 1-meter (384.30) and 32nd on the 3-meter (398.45).
