EAST LANSING, Mi. – The No. 6 Virginia field hockey team takes on No. 14 Northeastern at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Michigan State.

The Cavaliers (5-1) are coming off a 2-1 double overtime victory over Michigan State on Friday afternoon. This is the first time this season the team will play less than 24 hours after a game.

Northeastern (3-0) hasn’t played since Sept. 2 when they logged a 4-1 victory at Dartmouth. They opened the season with back-to-back victories over a pair of top-25 teams, taking down then-ranked No. 23 Louisville (3-2) and then-ranked No. 20 Northwestern (2-1).

Virginia head coach Michele Madison heads back to Ralph Young Field. Madison spent 13 seasons as the head coach of the Michigan State Spartans, amassing a 155-116-2 record.

Paige Selenski (R-Sr., Shavertown, Pa.) continued her scoring streak. After sitting out the season opener at Temple, Selenski has scored at least one goal in every game she has played in this season. She leads the team with 11 goals and 29 points. Elly Buckley (Jr., Scraborough Perth, Australia), who scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime on Friday, is second on the team with nine goals and 22 points.

This is the first neutral site contest of the season for the Cavaliers.
