Franklin, Tenn. – The Virginia men’s golf team finished 12th at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. The Cavaliers shot 7-over 291 during Sundays’ final round, their best 18-hole score of the tournament, for a three-day total of 885. Vanderbilt took top honors at 847.

Sophomore Denny McCarthy led the Cavaliers with a 12th-place finish at 1-over 214. He shot 72 during the final round. David Pastore was 28th in his collegiate debut, shooting 3-over 219. He and teammate Ji Soo Park led the team in scoring Sunday with scores of even par 71. Par was 40th at 222.

Freshman Kyle Kochevar placed 81st at 240. He shot 77 during the final round. Gregor Orlando withdrew following the second round and did not complete the tournament.

Georgia State’s Jonathan Grey was the medalist at 7-under 206.
