NEW ORLEANS—The Virginia men’s cross country team is ranked No. 29 in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll, the organization announced Tuesday (Oct. 2).

The Cavalier men are No. 29 in the nation after a week off since the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational, where they finished third. The men stayed steady at No. 3 in the Southeast Region poll.

The women’s squad dropped out of the national poll for the first time this season after being ranked No. 26 a week ago and fell one spot in the Southeast Region to No. 6. The Cavalier women also finished third at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational on Sept. 22.

The Cavaliers return to action on Oct. 12 when they travel to Madison, Wis., for the Wisconsin adidas Invitational.
