UVa Men's Golfers Open Play at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in Third Place

Johnson City, Tenn. – The Virginia men’s golf team is in third place following the opening round of play at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate taking place in Johnson City, Tenn. The Cavaliers shot 4-under 284 and trail co-leaders Tennessee and Memphis by four shots.
David Pastore led Virginia Friday with a 2-under 70, his lowest round as a collegiate. He is tied for fourth place and is three shots behind co-leaders Grant Milner of Memphis and Rick Lamb of Tennessee.
Ji So Park and Nick Tremps had UVa’s second best scores, shooting 1-under 71. They are tied for 12th place. Mac McLaughlin shot 72 and is 22nd place while Denny McCarthy shot 75 and is in 54th place. Nick McLaughlin, playing as a non-scoring individual, is also tied for 22nd at 72.
The second round of the tournament is set for Saturday and the final round will be played Sunday. Virginia will start its second round at 11:50 a.m. while paired with Tennessee and Memphis.
