CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia volleyball team hosts two Atlantic Coast Conference matches this weekend at Memorial Gymnasium. UVa takes on Duke on Friday (Oct. 12) at 7 p.m., before hosting Wake Forest on Saturday (Oct. 13) at 7 p.m.

The first 100 fans in attendance on Friday night will receive wristbands, while Saturday night’s match vs. Wake Forest will be Virginia’s Dig Pink game to support breast cancer awareness. The first 100 fans will receive Dig Pink t-shirts.

Fans who attend Saturday’s UVa football game against Wake Forest can bring their ticket stubs and receive free admission to Saturday night’s volleyball match against the Demon Deacons (based on availability).

Friday night’s match vs. Duke will be streamed live online at VirginiaSports.com as part of Cavaliers Live, UVa’s live audio and video streaming offering. Live statistics for both matches will be available through VirginiaSports.com.

The Duke and Wake Forest matches will be part of the 2012 ACC Fall Sportsmanship week. At all ACC home competitions from Oct. 15-21, every league team will showcase its continued dedication to sportsmanship by participating in a pregame handshake.

Single-match general admission tickets are $5. Youth, senior and faculty/staff general admission tickets are $4 and group tickets (20 or more) are $3 per ticket. Fans can order tickets online at VirginiaSports.com and by phone through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 800-542-UVA1 (8821) or 434-924-UVA1 (8821). Tickets are also available at the gate beginning one hour prior to the start of each match.

Tuesday night, Virginia picked up its first win in nine matches, defeating James Madison, 3-2, in Harrisonburg, Va.

Junior Emily Rottman had 26 digs in Tuesday’s win at James Madison to lead the Cavaliers. Rottman is sixth in the ACC with 4.21 digs per set. Freshman Kayla Sears had a season-high 21 kills.

The Blue Devils fell to Wake Forest, 3-1, on Tuesday night to fall to 11-10 (2-7 ACC). Duke is led by Emily Sklar, who averages 3.11 kills per set, and Ali McCurdy, who earns 5.85 digs per set.

Duke leads the all-time series, 44-13, and won the last meeting, 3-1, on Nov. 4, 2011 in Durham, N.C.

The Demon Deacons defeated Duke, 3-1, on Tuesday evening, improving to 8-13 (2-7 ACC).Andrea Beck leads Wake Forest with 3.70 kills pet set, while Danae Rosendall directs the offense with 10.01 assists per set.

Virginia leads the all-time series, 21-18, but dropped the last meeting, 3-2, on Nov. 5, 2011 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Up next, the Cavaliers travel south for two ACC matchups against Florida State on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. and Miami on Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
