CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia rowing program is back in action Sunday morning (Oct. 28) for the Princeton Chase on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. The action for the Cavaliers begins at 11 a.m.
Last week, Virginia had a strong showing at the Head of the Charles in Boston. The Varsity Eight finished as the top collegiate boat in the Championship Eights and third overall, only behind the US national team and a boat made up of eight Olympians from eight different countries.
The Cavaliers’ second entry finished 15th overall and was the second-fastest “B” crew. UVa’s four placed fourth overall in the Championship Fours and was the second-best collegiate crew.
The Princeton Chase is a headrace competed along a 2.75-mile course on Lake Carnegie and features many of the top collegiate programs on the East Coast.
Last year at the same regatta, the Cavaliers won the Varsity Eight and Novice Eight races.
Up next, the Cavaliers host the Rivanna Romp on Nov. 11 at the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va.
