PARKING MAP FOR THURSDAY’S FOOTBALL GAME

Charlottesville, Va. – Fans attending Thursday night’s (Nov. 15) Virginia-North Carolina football game at Scott Stadium should be aware traffic patterns and parking availability will be altered from schedules for Saturday home games. These changes are due to ongoing University classes and operations, particularly in the vicinity of central Grounds.

A variety of parking options will be available to accommodate all football fans attending the nationally televised game on ESPN that will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

The reserved parking lots adjacent to and surrounding Scott Stadium will open for football parking at 5:30 p.m. to allow University faculty and staff to exit parking lots at the close of the workday.

There will be limited parking in both the Emmet/Ivy Garage and the Central Grounds garage. Football parking in either garage, as available, will be $10, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Prior to that time, regular hourly rates will apply.

All other traditional game day parking options will be available, starting at 5:30 p.m.

First-come, first-served free parking is available at the Fontaine Research Park or the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena lots, a 20-minute walk to the stadium, respectively.

There will be a free shuttle to the stadium from the North Grounds parking lot for those with disabilities.

Due to road closures for the game, there will be no normal University bus service.

First-come first-served pay parking options include the Health System garage ($10), a 20-minute walk from Scott Stadium. The downtown parking garages on Water St. and Market St. offer football parking for $6. Charlottesville Transit Service will offer a round-trip shuttle to and from the stadium, picking up from all regular downtown CTS stops, for $5.

Street Closings
At 5:30 p.m. police will close the following roads near the stadium except for those vehicles with the appropriate parking pass: Alderman Road from Stadium Road to Ivy Road and McCormick Road from Emmet St. to Alderman Road.

Traffic Advisory
Automotive and pedestrian traffic will be heavy on Emmet Street, U.S. 29, U.S. 250, University Avenue and all streets adjacent to Scott Stadium and University Hall for approximately two hours before the game and one hour following the game.
