CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Paige Selenski was named the 2012 Longstreth/ NFHCA Division I South Region Player of the Year in honors announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

The 2012 ACC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All- ACC selection, Paige Selenski led the ACC is seven different statistical categories during the 2012 season. The senior led the Cavaliers to a 16-6 overall record and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Selenski was also named the South Region Player of the Year in 2009 during her sophomore season.

Selenski is the ACC’s and Virginia’s all-time career points leader (238) and ranks eighth on the NCAA career points list. She is the tenth player in NCAA history to score 100 goals in a career and ranks second in ACC history in career goals (100). She was the ninth player in ACC history to be a four-time All-ACC team member.

Katie Reinprecht of Princeton was named the Mid-Atlantic Player of the Year. Laura Hahnefeldt of Syracuse was named the Mideast Player of the Year. Crystal Poland of Northeastern was named the Northeast Region Player of the Year. Chelsea Armstrong of Northwestern was the West Region Player of the Year.
