GREENSBORO, N.C.—Virginia volleyball freshman Natalie Bausback has been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball All-Freshman Team, the conference announced Wednesday (Nov. 21).

A native of Carlsbad, Calif., Bausback leads UVa with 292 kills, 27 aces and is third on the squad with 153 digs. The 292 kills is the ninth-most in Virginia freshman history. The outside hitter recorded a season-high 22 kills and seven blocks in a four-set win against Wake Forest on Oct. 20.

Florida State middle blocker Ashley Neff was named ACC Player of the Year, while Ali McCurdy of Duke was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year. North Carolina’s middle blocker Paige Neuenfeldt earned Freshman of the Year honors, while Nicole Lantange Welch of Miami was voted Coach of the Year.

The Cavaliers close out the 2012 season Friday (Nov. 23) against Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.
