GUAYNABO, P.R. –The Virginia women’s basketball team (4-0) will face Syracuse (5-0) in the finale of the San Juan Shootout tournament on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Virginia opened the tournament with a 73-66 victory over No. 17/19 Vanderbilt. It was the first win over a ranked opponent for the Cavaliers since their 69-64 overtime win over No. 3 Tennessee last season.
The Cavaliers are off to a 4-0 start for the second year in a row. The last time a Virginia team started the year 5-0 or better was the 6-0 start to the 1997-98 season.
Jazmin Pitts (Jr., Mosely, Va.) scored a career-high 20 points in the victory over Vanderbilt. It was the third time this season that a Cavalier player set a career high in scoring with 20 or more points in a game and was the fourth 20-point performance of the season for a UVa player. Pitts was the first Virginia player to score 20 points in a game coming off the bench since Lyndra Littles scored 33 points as a non-starter against Louisiana Tech on Dec. 29, 2008.
China Crosby (Sr., New York, N.Y.) had her first double digit scoring performance of the season with 13. Crosby also tied her career high with seven assists, the highest single-game total for a Cavalier this season.
Sarah Imovbioh (So., Abuja, Nigeria) had her third double-digit scoring game of the season before the end of the first half. Imovbioh scored 15 points, 10 in the first half. She was 6-for-7 from the field, her second game this season with only one miss. Imovbioh started the year with an 8-for-9 performance against JMU. Pitts went 6-for-7 in the first half before ending the game with a 9-for-14 efficiency.
Faith Randolph (Fr., Derwood, Md.) was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field, including going 2-for-2 from three-point range.
Kelsey Wolfe (Jr., Germantown, Md.) has made 11 consecutive free throws over the course of the last three games.
The Cavaliers made 68.2 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half (15-of-22). It was the first time UVa shot better than 60 percent in a half since shooting 62.1 (18-of-29) on Feb. 16, 2010 against Longwood.
Syracuse comes into the game after defeating Georgia Tech, 75-72, in overtime in their opening game of the San Juan Shootout. Elashier Hall had a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Virginia has never lost to Syracuse, holding a 3-0 advantage over its future conference opponent. The last meeting between the two teams was in 1999 when UVa earned a 70-59 victory in Charlottesville. Virginia received votes in both polls last week while Syracuse garnered votes in the USA Today poll.
After returning from the Caribbean, the Cavaliers will face Minnesota in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game against the Golden Gophers on Thursday, Nov. 29 in Minneapolis. The team returns home on Sunday, Dec. 2, hosting No. 12/14 West Virginia.
