CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior captain Perry Jones has accepted an invitation to play in the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic. The contest is slated for Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. EST and will be played at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. CBS Sports Network will televise the contest live.

Jones (Chesapeake, Va.) will play for the Stripes, a team that will be coached by former NFL head coach Dan Reeves. The Raycom College Football All-Star Classic will be a week-long event that features elite college football seniors participating in NFL-formatted practices that are open to the public.

Jones finished his UVa career No. 9 all-time at UVa with 3,722 all-purpose yards and No. 17 in the Virginia annals with 2,033 career rushing yards. His 129 career receptions ranks No. 5 all-time at UVa and he became the fourth player in Virginia history and the 12th in ACC history to reach 1,000 career yards in both rushing and receiving.

Jones is the third Cavalier senior invited to a postseason all-star game. Offensive tackle Oday Aboushi is playing in the Senior Bowl and inside linebacker Steve Greer is playing in the East-West Shrine Game.
