CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—Junior Emily Rottman of the Virginia volleyball program has been named to the Virginia Sports Information Director’s (VaSID) All-State Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday (Jan. 30).

A native of Santa Barbara, Calif., Rottman led the Cavaliers with 490 digs, the tenth-most in a single season in UVa history. The junior libero tallied double-digit digs 27 times in 2012 and earned a career-high 40 against Clemson on Nov. 3, the fourth most in a single match in Virginia history.

She was named to the Holiday Inn Jefferson Cup All-Tournament Team and will enter her senior year with the ninth-most career digs (1,229) in program.

Liberty swept the major awards with Shane Pinder winning VaSID Coach of the Year and Caroline Douglas taking home Player and Rookie of the Year.
