Head Coach Joanne Boyle

“”[I give] A lot of credit to Georgia Tech. They played a great game. I’m just disappointed for us and our team. We were on a roll there for a while. There’s a lot of basketball yet to be played, and we have to regroup and move forward.”

On early lead:
“Franklin got in foul trouble, and we’re not as good in it without Franklin being at the top of it. They were scoring. When Franklin came out, they were scoring against us so we tried to pull it back out a little bit and geared it back up. They were hitting shots and they were really knocking down key buckets.”

On Georgia Tech’s style of play:
“As a coach I felt like I didn’t do a good job- I felt disjointed. When people press you, you want to make them pay for it. I feel like we did that the first game, but I think we were too conservative today.”

Senior forward Telia McCall

“We watched film earlier on how they play in the post. The coaches told me I either had a drive, a shot, or I could pass it to Simone [Egwu]. So there were three options and I knew they couldn’t take all of them away.”

On rebounding troubles
“We just need to box out and get rebounds, which is easier said than done. A couple times we had our teammates fighting for the ball. We just need to be smarter and box out and get rebounds.”

Junior guard Ataira Franklin

“We knew Georgia Tech is a dangerous team and there are no safe games in this conference. It’s obviously frustrating but all we can do is move forward. We have to be ready for Duke next, so we really need to gear up. We can’t look past that point. This is a big game for us coming up.”
