No. 8 Virginia Tunes Up at Penn Spring Fling

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia women’s lacrosse team will play three scrimmages on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Philadelphia, taking on Georgetown, Penn and Boston University.

The scrimmages are part of the Penn 2013 Spring Fling, which begins with a game between Penn and Boston University at 11:30 a.m. The scrimmages, with neither scores nor stats counting, with include two 25-minute halves with running clocks and a five minute break between the periods.
The Cavaliers, who are ranked No. 8 in the IWLCA Preseason Poll, will face Georgetown in the second game, set to begin at 12:30 a.m. They will have a break before facing Penn at 2:30 and Boston University right after at 3:30 p.m.
These three scrimmages will be the only exhibition contests of the preseason for Virginia. The regular season opens on Saturday, Feb. 16 when the Cavaliers face No. 7 Loyola in Baltimore. The Cavaliers’ first home game will be on Friday, March 1 when they host No. 4 Maryland at Klöckner Stadium. Season tickets are on sale now with single-game tickets set to go on sale on Friday, Feb. 8.
