CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior Virginia field hockey player Paige Selenski has been named the Virginia Female Collegiate Athlete of the year and will be honored on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the 67th Annual Portsmouth Sports Club Jamboree at the Renaissance Portsmouth Waterfront Convention Center.

Each year, the club selects a male and female Collegiate Athlete of the Year from the state of Virginia. Selenski, who was also honored in 2010, is the first collegiate athlete to twice earn the distinction.

Selenski was a four-time All-American and first-team All-ACC selection in her time with the Cavaliers. The 2012 ACC Offensive Player of the Year and 2012 Longstreth/NFHCA South Region Player of the Year scored 100 goals in her four seasons at Virginia and is the all-time leader in career points (238) for both the University and for the ACC. She ranks eighth on the NCAA career list for points scored and was only the tenth player in NCAA history to score 100 goals in a career.

Selenski redshirted in 2011 to spend the year training with the US National team, including competing at the 2012 London Olympics. Selenski appeared in all of Team USA’s Olympic games and scored a goal in the consolation game against Belgium.
