In February, Virginia opened the spring portion of its schedule by finishing fifth at the 18-team UCF Challenge. Mao took medalist honors, winning the first tournament in her career.

Altomare leads the Cavaliers in stroke average at 72.53 while Mao stands at 74.92, the second best on the team among players who have appeared in more than one tournament. Altomare is ranked No. 19 among individuals in the latest Golfweek standings.
