CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Advance ticket sales for the Virginia-Florida State baseball series this weekend are strong as fewer than 700 tickets remain for the games on Saturday (April 20) and Sunday (April 21). Fewer than 1,200 tickets remain for the series opener Friday (April 19).

Virginia and Florida State are scheduled to play at 6 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Cavaliers are currently ranked No. 7 nationally with a 31-6 record, while the Seminoles are ranked No. 5 with a 30-6 mark. Both teams are 13-5 in the ACC.

The series is the first between two top-10 teams at Davenport Field since then-No. 4 FSU and then-No. 5 UVa met on March 18-20, 2011.

“Our fans have played a major role in our success at Davenport Field in recent years,” head coach Brian O’Connorsaid. “Florida State has a great club. This is the weekend we need to fill our stadium for all three games and really create a great home-field advantage at Davenport.”

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee admission as each game is expected to sell out. The seating capacity at Davenport Field is 4,980. Admissions are being held for students similar to what is done for football, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse games. Once the stadium’s capacity is reached, ticket sales and student admissions at the gate will end. Gates will open and ticket sales will begin two hours prior to first pitch each day.

Tickets may be ordered online at VirginiaSports.com, in person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium or by phone at (800) 542-8821.

General admission tickets for weekend games at Davenport Field are $8 for adults and $6 for youth, seniors and UVa faculty and staff. General Admission seating is available in the bleachers along the first baseline, in the left- and right-field bleachers and on the grass hillside. Reserved seat tickets are sold out.

Family Packages are on sale for the Sunday game. Family Package tickets are $9 each and include a voucher for a hot dog and small soda. A minimum of four Family Package tickets must be purchased.
