CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The top-ranked Virginia men’s tennis team completed its seventh consecutive undefeated ACC regular season on Sunday with a 6-1 victory over No. 55 Miami on a windy day at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. The Cavaliers (21-0, 10-0 ACC) won their 77th consecutive ACC regular season match and their 103rd straight against conference opposition (regular season and postseason), while the Hurricanes end the regular season at 13-12 overall and 2-8 in the ACC.

“I am proud of the way we closed out the regular season,” said head coach Brian Boland. “The conditions in Miami today were brutal, so it was a good challenge for us to deal with. With the wind, it was absolutely the most difficult conditions we have played in all season.”

Virginia took a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point for the 16th consecutive match. Justin Shane (Falls Church, Va.) and Julen Uriguen (Guatemala City, Guatemala) moved up to No. 2 and downed William Albanese and Jack Murphy 8-2. Jarmere Jenkins (College Park. Styslinger clinched the win at No. 4, topping Albanese 6-3, 7-5 for the fourth Cavalier point.
