CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team hosts Virginia Tech for its final series of the regular season April 28-29 at The Park in Charlottesville. Sunday’s doubleheader is scheduled for a noon start, while Monday’s single game is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

Admission to Virginia softball games at The Park is free to the public. Live statistics will be available and linked through VirginiaSports.com. The Cavaliers (20-25, 3-15 ACC) will honor its seniors after the doubleheader on Saturday. Before Monday’s game, there will be a free tailgate for all fans with hot dogs, pizza and soda.

Last time out, Virginia earned a sweep against Liberty Wednesday afternoon (April 24), 7-3 and 7-6, in Lynchburg, Va. Senior Lauren Didlake (Bowling Green, Va.), junior Marcy Bowdren (Fairfax Station, Va.) and sophomore Megan Harris (Knoxville, Tenn.) each hit home runs and senior pitcher Melanie Mitchell (White Plains, Md.) earned two wins in the circle.

Virginia Tech comes to Charlottesville with a 29-15 record (6-8 ACC). Courtney Liddle leads the Hokies with a .397 batting average, while Kylie McGoldrick is hitting .375 with a team-leading eight home runs. Kelly Heinz (13-5, 2.54 ERA) and Jasmin Harrell (13-7, 3.30 ERA) have shared the bulk of the pitching this season for VT.

Last year, the Hokies took two-of-three from the Cavaliers in Blacksburg, Va. UVa won the first game, 1-0, before falling, 4-2 and 4-3.

Next up, the Cavaliers will travel to the ACC Tournament, to be held in Tallahassee, Fla., May 9-11.
