Auburn, Ala. – The 13th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team moved up one spot to 13th place after the second round of the NCAA East Regional Championship taking place at the Auburn University Club in Auburn, Ala. Virginia shot 10-over 298 for a two-day total of 22-over 598. The top eight teams in the 24-school field advance to the NCAA Championships. The final round of the regional will take place Saturday.

UCLA and Tennessee finished the second round tied for eighth at 586, 12 shots ahead of the Cavaliers.

Brittany Altomare continues to lead Virginia after shooting 1-under 71 during Friday’s play. She is tied for 15th place at 1-under 143. Briana Mao and Portland Rosen are tied for 48th at 5-over 149. Mao shot 74 during the second round while Rosen posted a score of 76. Elizabeth Brightwell is in 99th place at 157 and Nicole Agnello is 120th at 165.

Top-seed Alabama shot 11-under 277 for the second consecutive day and leads the field at 22-under 554. Tulane is second at 568 and Arkansas and Oklahoma State are tied for third at 577.
