Virginia Fall Olympic Sports to Make At Least Seven Broadcast Appearances

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday the Olympic Sport broadcast coverage for the upcoming fall season. Virginia teams will make seven regular-season broadcast appearances, with the chance of additional coverage during ACC tournaments.The league announced that 101 Olympic Sports events will be broadcast, the highest-ever in the history of ACC sports.
The Virginia women’s soccer team will have four broadcast appearances; two online on ESPN3 and two online on the ACC Digital Network. The Cavaliers’ road games at Pittsburgh on Sept. 22 and NC State on Oct. 17 will be available on ESPN3. The ACC Digital Network (theACC.com) will air the game at Duke on Sept. 26 and the home game against Notre Dame on Oct. 10. The ESPN family of networks will again provide coverage of the semifinals and final of the ACC Tournament. Both semifinals will be shown online by ESPN3 and the championship game will air nationally on ESPNU.
The Virginia men’s soccer team will have three of its conference games broadcast, one on television and two online. The Cavaliers’ home game against Maryland, now scheduled for Oct. 11, will air on the ACC Regional Sports Network (Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in Virginia), and will also be broadcast online on ESPN3. Virginia’s game at Clemson on Sept. 6 will be available online on ESPN3 and the home game against North Carolina on Nov. 1 will be on the ACC Digital Network. The ESPN family of networks will again provide coverage of the semifinals and final of the ACC Tournament. Both semifinals will be shown online by ESPN3 and the championship game will air nationally on ESPNU.
The Virginia field hockey team will have broadcast opportunities at the ACC Tournament. The semifinals and final of the tournament will be televised by the ACC Regional Sports Networks (Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in Virginia) as well as online on ESPN3.
