Women's Tennis Names Emma Levy Volunteer Assistant Coach

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Former Tulane standout Emma Levy (Princeton Junction, N.J.) has been named volunteer assistant coach for the Virginia women’s tennis program, head coach Mark Guilbeau announced Tuesday (Aug. 27).

“It is a tremendous pleasure to have Emma join our program and coaching staff,” Guilbeau said. “We are very excited and grateful to have her here and look forward to working together as a staff to provide our student-athletes the best coaching, teaching and overall support as possible. Emma competed at an extremely high level throughout her four years at Tulane and certainly impressed us with not only her tennis abilities, but also with her focus, intelligence and great energy level. She is a young lady of high character and will be a great asset and example for this team.”

Levy was a four-time All-Conference USA and All-Louisiana performer during her tennis career at Tulane from 2010-13. Levy won 20 or more singles matches in each of her four seasons for the Green Wave. She won 50 singles matches over her last two seasons, including a career-best 26 as a junior in 2011-12. The four-year letterwinner finished her four-year career with a 93-41 singles record.

Levy was also a standout doubles player, amassing an 84-40 record for Tulane. Levy won 20 or more doubles matches in three seasons, including a career-best 26 in 2011-12.

The Green Wave posted a 61-33 overall record during Levy’s four-year. Tulane was ranked during Levy’s final two seasons, including a high of No. 38 during the spring of 2013. Levy was also a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and Tulane’s 3.0 Club.
