CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia freshman forward Caleigh Foust has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week after a pair of three-goal performances in two Cavalier wins, including Sunday’s 5-3 victory at No. 8 Old Dominion.

Foust, a freshman forward from Bryn Mawr, Pa., scored her first career hat trick in last Friday’s 6-1 win at Yale, connecting on three of her four shots on goal.

Foust came up big again in Sunday’s match at ODU, making good on all three of her shots on goal in leading the Cavaliers past the Monarchs. Foust shot .600 overall in the two games (6-of-10), including a 6-of-7 showing in on-goal attempts.

Foust is currently tied for second in the NCAA national rankings for goals per game, averaging 1.75 per contest.

Senior forward Elly Buckley (Scarborough, Perth, Australia), who is also averaging 1.75 goals per game, earned ACC Player of the Week honors in the opening week of the season after scoring a pair of game-winning goals in the Cavaliers’ first two victories of the season.
