PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Virginia sophomore Julia Elbaba(Oyster Bay, N.Y.) claimed the main draw consolation singles title Sunday (Oct. 6) at the 2013 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Elbaba defeated Florida’s Brianna Morgan 6-4, 6-2 in the finals. Elbaba recorded four straight wins to claim the consolation singles title.

In other Virginia women’s tennis action, Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Marie Faure(Toulouse, France) concluded singles and doubles action at the Northwestern Invite in Evanston, Ill.

Peretz won by retirement over Oklahoma’s Mia Lancaster and Faure lost 6-5, 6-5 to the Sooners’ Emma Devine. Peretz and Faure were defeated 6-3 in doubles by Northwestern’s Alicia Barnett and Lok Sze Leung. Faure won the Red Flight singles title to highlight Virginia’s play at the invite.

Virginia hosts the ITA Atlantic Regional on Oct. 18-22.
